Two pork belly dishes of braised and with cauliflower were the tastiest dishes at Chi Restaurant & Bar. The ribs were meaty and fork tender. The crispy duck was bland despite the mixed salt sprinkled on top. The wrappers of the pork soup dumplings were thick like most of the places here in the City. The spring rolls tasted unusual and we nibbled at it. My choice of orange chicken was bright in color and yet could have had more punch. Our selection was from the Power Lunch menu which was far cheaper than the regular menu. Brenda drank three lychee martinis and said that the third one had barely any alcohol. I know because I had a sip. Chi Restaurant had been on my list of places to eat for a few years. It's a pretty restaurant with lots of art. Restrooms like most on Ninth Avenue are downstairs. Both the servers were professional and friendly. Zhong Zhuo Sheng aka Sam and Wen Xiang aka Liu were the two affable servers. It was a pleasure to meet them.

Chi Restaurant & Bar is incredible! We came in with a large party and they accommodated us perfectly, which meant we got to try almost everything on the menu. The food tasted totally authentic, yet somehow still fresh and fun. Seriously, it felt like every single dish we ordered topped the last one! The duck was absolutely fantastic, and the dim sum and veggies were just as amazing. Whatever you do, definitely don’t skip out on the cute desserts at the end. It's an awesome spot for a group dinner with top-tier food.

CHI offers one of the most complete Chinese dining experiences I've had in New York. Rather than focusing on a single regional cuisine, the menu brings together flavors from across China—from delicate Jiangnan-style dumplings to bold Sichuan dishes, refined soups, creative desserts, and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Standout dishes included the Shanghai wontons in chili oil, the Four Treasures Golden Soup, the truffle filet mignon, the Yunnan basil chicken, and the seafood fried rice. Every dish felt carefully balanced, with great attention to texture, ingredients, and presentation. The desserts were just as memorable, especially the cloud mousse cake and the playful xiaolongbao-inspired dessert. The cocktail program is also worth exploring, with drinks that pair beautifully with the food. The atmosphere is stylish yet comfortable, making it a great choice for anything from dinner with friends to a late-night meal. Service was warm and attentive throughout the evening. If you're looking for modern Chinese cuisine in NYC that showcases a wide range of regional flavors, CHI is well worth a visit.

Great dinner spot with fantastic seafood and hearty classic dishes! The lobster wild rice fried rice was absolutely outstanding—fluffy rice mixed with nutty wild rice, loaded with fresh lobster meat, full of rich seafood aroma. Spicy grilled fish came in a flavorful red broth with tofu, kelp and mushrooms inside, tender fish soaked up all the spicy savory sauce perfectly. The eggplant clay pot was soft, well-seasoned and super comforting as a side. Service was attentive, the dining space clean and quiet, and portion sizes are generous for sharing with friends. Will definitely come back to try more seafood options!

After visiting The Vessel, we walked about 15 minutes to Chi for dinner, then headed back to The Edge for sunset. It turned out to be the perfect CityWalk. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was delicious. The cold appetizer platter was a great start, the crispy shrimp were perfectly crunchy, and the braised beef short ribs were so tender with a rich sauce that was amazing over rice. The dim sum sampler was also a nice way to try a little of everything. For drinks, The Pavilion was light and refreshing, while the Diamond Dragon came in a diamond-shaped glass with dry ice, making it both fun to drink and great for photos. The restaurant was busy even on a weekday evening, with a big screen showing a soccer match that added to the atmosphere. Great food, great vibes, and a perfect stop after exploring Hudson Yards. I’d definitely come back.
